Lydia’s illustrations combine hand rendering with the computer. Work begins experimentally in her sketchbook, exploring a variety of media. Painting, drawing, collage cut-outs and photographic techniques are often employed and then reworked and composed on screen.
Lydia draws inspiration from what is going on around her and paired with a love of colour, stamp design and Modernism she is able to produce vibrant illustrations that convey a strong graphic quality whilst retaining a sense of spontaneity.
